JAMB Cut-Off Mark For 2018/2019 Admissions
After the 2018 JAMB Admission Policy meeting, many candidates were expecting JAMB to announce the new JAMB cut-off mark for 2018 admissions. However, JAMB ended up not mentioning anything about this.
However, JAMB stated that it is not the responsibility of JAMB to actually set cut-off mark for different institutions. What JAMB does is to set the minimum mark a candidate should score in JAMB UTME before applying for admission in either a University, a Polytechnic or a College of Education. It is the institutions themselves that set the actual admission/Post-UTME cut-off marks.
The institutions may even have different cut-off marks for different courses.
For the benefit of doubt, the JAMB minimum mark that qualifies you for a university admission is 120 while the minimum mark for admission in Polytechnics and Colleges of education is 100 . This means any candidate that scored less than 120 in UTME can’t be admitted in a university and any candidate that scored less than 100 in UTME cannot be admitted in a polytechnic or a College of Education.
This equally means means that no university will set its cut-off mark below the 120 JAMB minimum mark and no polytechnic or College of Education will set its cut-off mark below the 100 minimum mark but they all have the right to set their cut-off marks above these minimum marks.

However, if the cut-off mark for your school of choice happens to be changed, it will be stated in the school’s post-UTME details whenever it comes out.
